Mid Calder Colts U16 goalkeeper Jak Trueman, was diagnosed with Gamma delta T-cell lymphoma (which is a rare and aggressive form of cancer) in August 2014. He was expected to get a lifesaving bone marrow transplant last week, but instead was given the devastating news that the cancer had spread to his bones and vital organs, and that no further treatment would be given.
Following this, Jak, selflessly, wants to raise as much money as he can for charity.
Therefore, West Calder High (Jak’s School) has asked Mid Calder Colts U16 to play a match against their teachers.
This has now been arranged for Sunday 8th February 2015 and will take place at Livingston Football Stadium.
Several pros/ex-pros have agreed to lend a hand and play in the match, these include: Frank McAvennie, Nacho Novo, Neil Alexander, Charlie Miller, with more to follow. The game will be refereed by grade 1 referee Callum Murray.
The kick off will be at 14:00 with the main stand at Livingston being opened well before kick-off. It will be £5 admission per person (same cost for children) to try and raise as much as possible for charities CLIC Sargent and Sick Kids Friends Foundation. ALL proceeds will go to the charities on behalf of Jak.
